Rescue Section Roles and Responsibilities

Rescue Section Leader

  • Is responsible to Deputy Unit Manager and up.

  • Ensuring training and unit operational response requirements are met for Rescue team leaders & Rescue team members.

  • Works with Training Manager or Rescue Section Training Planner to ensure Wednesday night Continuity training sessions meet the unit’s requirements.

  • Ensuring Rescue Member PPC/E requirements are maintained & authorising replacements for faulty equipment/PPC/E via Logistics.

  • Maintaining and updating Rescue Section controlled documents and SOP’s

  • Maintaining Duty Team Leader roster & ensuring role is constantly filled by suitable Team Leaders.

  • Attending courses as unit training needs require.

  • Mentors DRSL to carry out RSL role. 

  • Attending RFA’s.

 

Deputy Rescue Section Leader

  • Is responsible to Rescue Section Leader and up.

  • Proxy to RSL where they can’t attend meetings, training or other required sessions.

  • Assisting in RSL duties as required.

  • ​Attending courses as unit training needs require.

  • Mentors RTL’s for DRSL role.

  • Attending RFA’s.

 

Rescue Team Leader

  • Is responsible to Dept. Rescue Section Leader and up

  • Attending training on Wednesday continuity training nights or exercises

  • Providing training to volunteers on Wednesday night continuity training as directed by Rescue Section Training Manager

  • Acting as Duty Team Leader during their rostered time

  • Communicating with DRSL, RSL & Rescue Section Training Manager indicating further training needs and progress.

  • Attending further training courses as unit training needs require.

  • Mentors DRTL’s for RTL role.

  • Attending RFA’s.

 

 

Deputy Rescue Team Leader

  • Is responsible to Team Leaders and up.

  • Attending training on Wednesday continuity training nights or outside activities.

  • Assisting in RTL duties as required.

  • Attending further training courses as unit training needs require.

  • Attending RFA’s.

 

 

 

Rescue Section Member

  • Is responsible to DRTL and up.

  • Attends Wednesday continuity training nights or outside activities.

  • Communicates with Rescue Section Leader or Team Leaders with training requirements or feedback.

  • Attending further training courses as unit training needs require.

  • Attending RFA’s.
