The cup runs July 1st - June 30 each year with winning team announced the following week
Training teams can earn points for their team for :
Most Members in attendance on a Wednesday night (5 Points)
Winning a practical challenge (when one is set) (10 Points)
Winning Training Recap Kahoot Quiz (5 Points)
For each member with a Thank You notice during rescue requirements assessment (5 points)
For each member with ALL green markers during rescue requirements assessment (10 Points)
Winning WOW Day Cup (20 Points)
Member of the team runs Continuance Training (subject to approval by SL/DSL) (10 Points)
Teams will lose points for:
Every safety breach noted during training (PPE/PPC/Unsafe Conduct) (1 Point)
Every Red Notice member in the team during rescue requirements assessment. (5 Points)
Any count of unsportspersonlike conduct (5 Points)
Prizes the winning team will receive
Team name on the trophy to be displayed in the rescue office and a certificate for each team member.
And the winning team can choose any 1 of the following group prizes (section must be made as a team in order to qualify)
Dibbs - Dibbs entitles the winning team to simply call “dibbs” on a task of their choosing (that could be running a favourite training evening or community engagement event) (excluding WOW day) or dibbs may be called for stealing the points for a practical challenge held on a Training night from the team who actually won the challenge.
Week Off - This entitles the winning team to take a full week off from ALL activities including duty roster (coverage will be provided by section leadership and members from the other remaining teams), continuance training and community engagement tasks. (ANY week in the upcoming financial year can be selected)
EAT DRINK and PLAN - this option entitles the wining team to an evening of planning and sharing ideas with the section leadership over food and drink. This is an extra opportunity to make requests for training nights, share ideas and request unit events for the following calendar year.
Car wash - on a selected sunny weekend day the LOSING team and Section Leadership will setup and run a car washing and station at the unit while members of the winning team can relax in the shed with music and snacks while their car is cleaned for them.
